Why the Red Cross C.N.A. Program is the Best Choice
The Clark County Chapter of the American Red Cross is the FIRST Red Cross Chapter in Indiana to offer
the nurse aide training program. The American Red Cross has been involved in nursing for more than
100 years. The Nursing Assistant-Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) Nurse Aide Program offered
by the Clark County Chapter continues the Red Cross tradition of outstanding education that benefits you
as the participant and your community. The quality of your training may affect your future career opportunities,
so please review our course information on this site, stop by, call, or email the Chapter and take the first step
toward a career in caring.
The origin of the American Red Cross is deeply entrenched in health care, caring for others, and providing
quality education to the communities. This irrefutable reputation is the foundation of all programs provided
by the American Red Cross. With this philosophy of professional integrity and excellence in mind the C.N.A.
program recruits individuals with the same professional integrity and excellence to conduct the program.
The current NAT Program Director maintains an RN, BSN and 28 years of experience in health care which
includes multiple health care arenas, including education. The nursing instructors have a combined experience
level of over 30 years in the nursing field. Their numerous years in diverse arenas in health care are a testament
to the formidable foundation on which this program was built and continues to operate.
The Medical Advisory Board steers the governing policies and program development. The Board is comprised
of community medical professionals, also with over 30 years of combined experience and either actively practicing
or retired with continued involvement in the nursing field. All levels of education are represented and include
individuals with an ASN, BSN, MSN and PhD. This combination provides a wealth of knowledge and experience.
The American Red Cross-ISDH Nurse Aide Training Program is a comprehensive educational program rooted
in current nursing practice standards and research. The program exceeds the state requirement by blending the
state curriculum with the Red Cross program. When you complete the course you will not only be well prepared
for the state certification exam, but also have a solid foundation in health care delivery with a reality based
approach.
